This summer, the Ing foundation is holding the first International Collegiate Go tournament, to be hosted in Shanghai, between July 7th and July 13th.
The only requirements to participate in the tournament are that the players have or will have attended college in the 2013 calendar year, and that they do not hold a professional certificate. Not only are students allowed to participate, but faculty members of a university or college are also eligible to compete.
The players would be responsible for the costs of getting to and from China, including but not limited to, airfare and visa costs. Once the participant arrives though, all of their expenses (excluding personal expenses such as nightlife and souvenirs) will be covered, such as food, accommodations, tourist attractions and transportation while in China.
